Kaamelott : First part, of the audiovisual power of Lyon

From March 30 to April 2, 2023, the Lyon Auditorium hosted the debut of the Kaamelott: Part One tour. A resounding success if we are to believe the ticket office which was sold out. We can say it, Mr. Alexandre Astier knows how to entertain us while waiting for the second part, still in preparation.

An experience as musical as it is cinematic

By offering this version of his film released in July 2021 and achieving more than 2.5 million entries, the native of the city of lights does not stop bluffing us with all his hats: director, producer, screenwriter, director, actor, composer or musician. While he had indeed recorded the soundtrack of the film with the National Orchestra of Lyon with the composer Franck Strobel, he can now defend it with a striking cinematographic and musical performance. What's more, in front of thousands of people. An honor for him, who confided to France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes : "The music in a context like this, you can not escape. (...) The conveyor belt of the evening is entirely determined by the musical events of the film.

A producer attached to his roots

And even if the second opus does not promise an imminent release, it will be once again directed by Regular Production, the Lyon-based production company of our dear Alexandre. Also, he revealed, still to the microphone of France 3, that "the shooting should begin this year, partly in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes ". Indeed, the director had already gone to the regional natural park of Pilat or to the castle of la Bâtie d'Urfé, not far from Lyon to shoot. Various film studios in the region also participated in the production, particularly with regard to special effects and sets. The artist also evoked the fact "that there would be old and new". And among these old-timers, one remembers, among others, Franck Pitiot (Perceval) being at the origin of the Pilon Studio, or even Jacques Chambon (Merlin), both well known or even regulars of the Anatole studio.

We can only welcome these initiatives, allowing the influence of the city and the Lyon region, especially in the audiovisual market. This generates employment and promotes local talent. A positive impact, we must admit, non-negligible. In the meantime, if you missed the first Lyon event, don't worry, a last date is already scheduled for September 23rd at the Tony Garnier hall.
